Nana Patekar, the 64-year-old veteran Bollywood actor has done something amazing for the families of farmers who have committed suicide. Nana donated Rs. 15,000 each to families of farmers who have committed suicide. Over 3,000 farmers have committed suicide in the last 3 years. The Hindu reported that the suicides point to two things –
First, a serious agrarian crisis shaped by an increase in cultivation costs and a decline in agricultural income, which is pushing farmers into a debt trap; and second, the sociological pressures that farmers face because of the disparity between their income and those in urban areas.

Nana Patekar has taken the issue on himself and the reason can get you thinking. His work for their families is remarkable as well as a matter of pride. Dr. Subramanian Swamy shared Nana’s story about this on his page. It is going to be worth your time, trust us. Read and share.
