My eyebrows were raised and question mark appeared in thoughts when I came across this horrifying news. It is hard to believe that an actress can face money deficiency to the limit that she crossed all the boundaries and lost her gained prestige. I am referring to Shweta Basu Prasad, the Chunni/Munni from the movie ‘Makdee’ which offered her many awards.
Shweta was caught red handed by Hyderabad Police when they raided the famous hotel in Banjara hills. She has been arrested on 31st August for being involved in high profile sex racket.
The actress came to limelight when she received National Film Award for Best Child Artist for ‘Makdee’. She also bagged the Star Screen Awards for Best Supporting Actresses for ‘Iqbal’. Shweta has worked in few other Bollywood and Tollywood movies and remained a part of popular Hindi TV shows too.
The police also arrested some of the businessmen of the metro city along with the actress, who later released a statement that, she was out of money and there was no other way she could help her family. Moreover, this is not the first time that the actress was caught in something similar. Previous reports suggest that in a sting operation that was carried out, she was caught in a compromising position.
In her statement, Shweta Prasad said, “I have made wrong choices in my career, and I was out of money. I had to support my family and some other good causes. All the doors were closed, and some people encouraged me to get into prostitution to earn money. I was helpless, and with no option left to choose, I got involved in this act. I’m not the only one who faced this problem, and there are several other heroines who have gone through this phase.”
It is still hard to believe that such talented people choose wrong path to reach temporary success. Amidst this, I also wonder that why media has no guts to disclose the metro city businessmen involved in this case? Why only the woman?
May be they want to keep up their reputation but in that case they should have not covered Shweta Prasad too! This partiality of Indian media needs to be changed for their better future or it would be hard to breath.
