Hate the idea of marriage, and being married? Don’t fret! There is an Argentina-based company called Falsa Boda that organizes fake weddings for people who do not want to get married but would want to experience going to a wedding and seeing how things are done anyway.
The company was started by a group of friends who realized and thought that twenty and thirty somethings who have a strong dislike for weddings do not get to attend a wedding. They started imitating wedding ceremonies and parties where people could come and attend.
Real couples will re-enact marriage vows in front of the guests who will choose the wedding venue and type and will come accordingly as per the event’s dress code.
If there is a guest who would like to come to the wedding with his date, they will have to pay for it.
The event will have everything from drinks, to bands, to dance.
Mauro De Girolamo, one of Falsa Boda’s creators, told BuzzFeed “the parties have been received enthusiastically by guests and there are plans to expand globally.”
“Once, a group of guys came to a Falsa Boda. They arrived a day before the party, pretending to celebrate a ‘Fake Bachelor Party’. It consisted of picking a ‘Fake Groom’ and going from bar to bar celebrating and having fun all night long.”
The group has more than 70 international fan pages on Facebook and their first international experience happened in 2014 in Moscow when one of the founder’s sister was performing tango in Moscow and was able to arrange for a hall for them.
Here is a video they shared on their page.
