Anupam Kher has been appointed as the ambassador of the United Nations’ (UN) ‘HeforShe. This is an extremely proud moment for India and it is great to see someone as influential as him coming forward to show his support for gender equality.

Anupam is now the only second Bollywood star to be appointed by the organisation for this cause. We previously informed that Farhan Akhtar got appointed as the 1st male goodwill ambassador for UN Women in South Asia.

Anupam Kher joked saying he did the math and was certain that he would be alive to see the day women are treated as equals.
He also said, that he would personally reply to tweets and posts from his fans and followers if they sign up for the campaign. He said,
I pledge to respond to each of my followers who sign up to #HeForShe.
