Most of the idioms we used on a regular basis mean something else, when take in a literal sense. Same hold true for a lot of phrases.

Keren Rosen, an illustrator and designer made some really cute illustrations of idioms and phrases that we use on a regular basis and they are really cute. Keren’s website description reads,

For as long as I can remember I have enjoyed and spent the majority of the time painting and working on various art projects. When I was eight years old I even tried building a set of wings to help me fly but unfortunately had no success….Since then I’ve improved….
These artistic abilities and love of creation led me to Bezalel Academy of Art and Design in Jerusalem Israel where I majored in Industrial Design. Post-graduation I joined Fabrica, the Benetton Research and Communication Center in Treviso, Italy.
