A political science student created a mild havoc, today! IMF Chief Christine Lagarde came on an NDTV show hosted by Prannoy Roy. Students present on the show asked Lagarde questions of their choice.
Everything went cool until a a IIIrd year political science student at LSR, Paroma Ray, posed her silly question to the IMF Chief –
“Recently, with the new government coming in we are noticing some disturbing chances of increase in communalism and patriarchy and forces that are entering into economy also. So, do you think that the growth you forecasted of 7.5% will actually be inclusive even if that growth does happen or will it be concentrated to the Hindu male population.”
Taken aback, Lagarde replied while Prannoy Roy clapped like a little kid on the show-
“There should be no exclusion and no reservation or capture of the output by a particular group of people – be they of one particular gender, one particular race or one particular religion. Inclusiveness for good growth means everybody.”
No one applauded at Paroma’s silly question.
