Taylor Swift was awarded the IFPI Global Recording Artist of 2014 by the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry, yesterday!
Taylor’s album ‘1989’ was a huge hit last year. The album sold out 4,619,000 copies in just 8 weeks from the release and was on the Billboard 200 chart for 11 consecutive weeks. Here songs “blank space and “shake it off” have been No. 1’s on the global best-swelling Singles chart. This annual award honours the current year’s top artist across physical sales, downloads and streaming worldwide.
One Direction was the 2nd best selling this year. The 3rd best selling artist was Ed Sheeran and the 4th was Cold Play.
