WhatsApp is one of the most popular messaging apps out there and millions of people use it in their everyday life to connect with their friends, hang out with their groups, and do much more. WhatsApp recently updated its terms and conditions along with its privacy policy and they have made it mandatory for all the users to accept it. The people who don’t accept these updated terms before 8th Feb will have to leave the app as they won’t be able to use it.
While a lot of people have accepted the terms without reading them, there are people who are concerned about their data being shared with Facebook and other partner companies and due to this, they have started shifting to a new app called Signal. Recently, Elon Musk also tweeted that users should shift to Signal if they are concerned about their data which led to a lot of users leaving WhatsApp permanently.
If you are someone who is planning to switch to Signal then this guide will show you how to create a group on Signal and get your WhatsApp friends on it. Without waiting further, let’s get started.
How to move your chat group from WhatsApp to Signal
Step 1: Bring up the Signal App on your smartphone.
Step 2: Tap on the three lines from the top right corner to bring up a new drop-down menu and once the drop-down menu pops up on your screen select “New Group” from the drop-down options.
Step 3: Select the Contacts you want to add on Signal. Once you’ve selected tap the arrow button to continue to the next stage.
Step 4: Enter the Name for your new group and then tap on the Create button.
Step 6: Once you’ve created your new group, head to the Group Settings, and turn on the Group links option.
Step 7: You can now copy the group link and share it in the WhatsApp Group and all the members of that WhatsApp Group can now join the Signal group with that link.
That’s all, folks! Doing this will allow your WhatsApp friends to join your signal group easily. It is to be noted that you can’t move your chats from WhatsApp to Signal because both are totally different platforms. Were we helpful?
