This video of Los Anegles police shooting a homeless dead on the street was shot just yesterday. There have been fierce discussions over police taking advantage of their authority and doing injustice with the homeless especially the coloured homeless in Los Angeles.
According to the reports, the police had come to interrogate and arrest the homeless named ,”Africa”, or “Brother Africa” in Skid Row for he was involved in a robbery case. When police tried to arrest him, the man started swinging his arms. Police tried to shock him with a Taser but the homeless tried to reach for a cop’s gun. At this situation, the policemen started firing at the homeless.
“The preliminary investigation revealed that during that altercation, at least one less than lethal device, a Taser, was deployed. However, at this time, we still do not know if that Taser did strike the suspect.” said, LAPD Sgt. Barry Montgomery.
“I had my phone out, you know, videotaping the whole thing ’cause we’ve been hearing on the news about police brutality.” Blackburn told CNN affiliate KABC. “I just wanted to film it and just make sure everything was alright. But I ended up seeing a tragedy.”
