A thoughtful goldsmith from Coimbatore, determined to spread awareness about the safety of every two-wheeler rider, decided to craft 250gm gold helmet. Mariappan from Coimbatore wanted to share the benefits of wearing a helmet. He crafted a miniature helmet in 12 hours to draw the attention of young motorists.
India’s Motor Vehicles Act, 1988, states “every person driving or riding” a two-wheeler must wear protective headgear.
