Kailash Chandra Pandey, a Lucknow-based activist filed a complaint against Ranveer Singh, Karan Johar, Arjun Kapoor for the AIB Roast, due to which they could face three-year jail term. According the the complaint, he claimed that the video has ‘vulgar’ content and goes ‘against Indian culture’.
Under section 294 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) [for obscene acts or words in public] along with section 66 of the IT Act [for sending offensive messages through communication service, etc.], with the help of additional chief judical magistrate (ACJM-1) Suchi Srivastava, a case has been filed against Ranveer Singh, Karan Johar and Arjun Kapoor.
The convener of social outfit Rashtriya Shahari Vikas Samiti, Pandey said that content (of the video) was ‘extremely ridiculous and vulgar’. He apparently saw the video when he saw his 9-year old son watching the downloaded videos, after removal from YouTube.
“It is shocking for me to find my nine-year-old kid watching such a video. We should discourage circulating this stuff, or else it would have adverse effect on our culture,” he said.
