The good guy Farhan Akhtar appointed as the 1st male goodwill ambassador for UN Women in South Asia

There is no question about how much Farhan Akhtar stands up for the welfare of women and their rights. The only actor who we think diligently works on the issues face by women. His logical tweets about the injustice towards women and innocents are the proofs. The multifaceted star who is an actor, director, producer, singer and a rock star founded MARD (Men Against Rape and Discrimination), an  organization that works against gender discrimination and rapes, in 2013. He has spoken many a times against all the crimes against women.

On March 12th, Farhan Akhtar became the first ‘male’ goodwill ambassador for UN Women in South Asia at the  United Nations Conference, in New York. The foundation works at spreading gender equality.  The MARD founder has joined the list of many influential goodwill ambassadors including Sania Mirza, Emma Watson, Princess Bajrakitiyabha Mahidol of Thailand, and Nicole Kidman.

Here’s Farhan with his MARD team and wife, Adhuna Akhtar.
