Ruchi, the daughter of Parmeshwari Dayal from Nagla Khairband village in Farrukhabad was to marry the son of Baburam from Nehru Nagar of Jaithara in Etah. During the ‘jaimal‘ ceremony on the wedding day, her cousin was kissed by the groom’s father Baburam even as the she and her family looked on in deep disapproval.
Upset by this kind of a behavior, she immediately refused to marry the groom and also ordered for them to return. The groom’s father apologized publicly, but Ruchi remained adamant to not change her decision.
Followed by this, the groom, along with his father was confined to an enclosure by the girl’s side and police were informed. Brijesh Kumar, the bride’s cousin said that the groom’s family was allowed to return after they returned the gifts and the reimbursed the expenses which amounted to Rs 27,900.
