There is nothing killer than watching one of your favourite actors doing a come back. Sunny Deol, with his “thaai kilo ka hath” is back in Bollywood and how! The ‘Gadar’ actor is seriously up to some real power-packed role which is going to surprise all his fans. In true words, Sunny is playing a ‘gadar‘-ish role in his upcoming film, ‘Mohalla Assi’. Paired against none other than the “Kahani Ghar Ghar Ki’s” ‘sanskari‘ actress, Sakshi Tanwar, Sunny is playing the role of a well-read Sanskrit teacher and pandit. Together, Sunny and Sakshi are seen doing something that they have never been seen doing before. The two are using Indian cuss words like total pros.
Director Chandra Prakash Dwivedi’s Mohalla Assi shows the real people, what happens in Assi ghat, the dark side of the city, and Kashi – the divine city of Benaras. “Sunny Deol is playing a poor Brahmin who is a Sanskrit teacher. He is extremely upset with foreigners who damage the Benaras ghats by smoking ‘ganja’ and ‘bhang’. While we see Benaras in sacred light, it’s not the same for them,” says the Dwivedi.
Extremely happy with the trailer, Anurag Kashyap posted on his wall.
Mohalla Assi is based on on Kashi Nath Singh’s book ‘Kaasi ka Assi’ and was earlier slated to release in 2012 but now will be in the theaters by the end of 2015. The film also stars Ravi Kishan, Saurabh Shukla and Mukesh Tiwari in superb roles.
If there is one movie we like to watch this year, it has to be Mohalla Assi
