Realme has today officially launched its own magnetic wireless charging system — Realme MagDart which the company claims to be the world’s fastest magnetic wireless charger. The product is similar to the Apple MagSafe but the Realme’s device is for Android smartphones.
Design-wise, the product is cubic-shaped and is quite bulky but that is because there’s room for a cooling fan. But Realme hopes that the users will trade-off the design for a faster charging speed.
The company claims that the MagDart charger will be powered by a 4,500mAh battery that can be fully charged within 54 minutes using the Realme 65W SuperDart charger.
For those who are looking for a slimmer product, the company has also announced a 15W MagDart charging pad which is slimmer than the Apple MagSafe charger. Realme managed this by having the circuit board tucked away in the plug, which also keeps the charging coil cooler for higher efficiency. The company adds that it will take about 90 minutes for the device to go from zero to 100 percent charging.
Not just that, the company is also offering a few other snap-on accessories. There’s a MagDart power bank that one-ups the MagSafe Battery Pack by doubling as a wireless charging stand. It also announced MagDart Beauty Light, which is a flip-up ring light — consisting of 60 mini LEDs, with adjustable brightness and color temperature.
There’s also MagDart Wallet, which holds up to three credit cards in its vegan leather pockets. Unlike the MagSafe version, this one adds an aluminum kickstand to your phone as well. The Realme GT users can get a special case to make the devices MagDart compatible adding a slight bulge near the bottom on the backside.
As of now, there’s no information about the first MagDart-compatible devices releasing in the market but we expect future Realme premium smartphones to have support for this magnetic charger.
