Her husband, sports journalist Mehdi Toutounchi has refused to sign the papers needed to get her passport renewed for he wants her to be present on the day of their 7-year-old son’s first day at school.
Under Islamic law, a married Iranian woman requires to taker permission from her husband to leave the country. The husband has the full control on her freedom.
