It’s been a couple of years since Fossil announced its Gen 5 smartwatch but the company is now ready to launch its successor in the market. In fact, the company has confirmed that the Fossil Gen 6 series of smartwatches will be officially launched on 30th August.
The company has set up a promotional landing page on its website that teases the upcoming smartwatches. Do note that the launch date has not been revealed on the landing page but an email sent by the company with a countdown timer indicates the launch happening this Monday.
So far, the company has not revealed information about what to expect from the next generation of smartwatch models but the details about the Fossil Gen 6 has already been leaked online.
The smartwatch is expected to come in two sizes — 42mm and 44mm, offering a 1.28-inch OLED screen with Always-On support and powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 4100+ SoC. It is expected to pack features like a step counter, heart rate monitoring, SpO2 sensor, and GPS.
Additionally, the device may also be water-resistant up to 50 meters. As for the battery life, expect 24-hours battery life on the smartwatch and fast-charging technology support that can charge the device up to 80% in just 30 minutes. Coming to the pricing, they could be priced around $300.
