The obsession with fair skin has been prevalent in India since ages and it has been passing on, generation, after generation. I fail to understand why. How can we call someone beautiful based on their skin color? The frustration around this obsession is so much that I could go on, but I’d rather not. We are here to talk about Scherezade Shroff who happens to share the same school of thought as us.
Sherry, along with her other friends decided to call out our fair skin obsession and it is really something that most of the Indians need to be aware of. Sherry, in this video shares her thoughts on what being beautiful actually means, why the obsession is stupid and insensitive, why thinking ‘fair’ as a compliment is offensive and finally, why each one of us is beautiful because of our own uniqueness. We couldn’t agree more!
She got along her friends – Nidhi Sunil, Jovita George, supermodel Carol Gracias, Smita Ladrado and popular YouTuber/blogger Rickshawali. These women also had some beautiful thoughts to share on the same and we insist everyone to invest their ten minutes to watch this video. If even a single person’s mindset about fair skin changes, it’d be worth it:
Here’s the full video. Cheers to the girls for bringing this up and talking about it.
