Earlier this year, Amazon had launched its Halo Band fitness tracker on an invite-only basis. Now, the device is available for purchase in the United States for everyone who wants to buy. It is now up for sale through Amazon and Best Buy.
It is available in three color options — Black, Blush, and Silver, for a price of $99.99. However, after buying the product, the user will need to purchase a Halo subscription fitness program to make the most out of the fitness tracking device, which starts at $4 per month after six months of free trial.
Unlike other fitness trackers, this Halo Band from Amazon doesn’t have a display panel. But it compensates with some interesting features that are not available on other trackers. For instance, there are two built-in microphones that measure the user’s tone of voice. Another feature lets users take a full-body selfie which then Amazon uses to estimate body fat percentage.
The device comes with an accelerometer, a temperature sensor, a heart rate monitor, an LED indicator light, and a button to turn the microphones on or off. Amazon has clarified that the Halo Band is not a medical device and the company has not submitted it to FDA for any kind of approval.
